I’m proud to announce the start of a new YouTube channel called DarwinianBytes which will focus on creating simulations with a focus primarily on evolution and emergent behaviors.
The first video which has just been released is mainly focused on creating a simple simulation heavily inspired by Conway’s Game of Life but with a few interesting liberties. The goal is to start with a very simple simulation, using one of the original simulations, and then evolve it to ever more involved and complex simulations, again to explore everything from evolution to emergent behaviors over many many videos.
With that in mind the video also includes a short montage near the start to give examples of what’s possible, what others have been able to achieve, and what this channel aspires to achieve. I also want to take a quick moment to thank everyone who gave permission to use clips of their simulations, you can find the links to their channels in the description section of the video.
Most of the videos will be focused on simulations but I expect there will also be some informational videos, as in behind the scenes videos on how the simulations were created and so on. However the main focus will be about the simulations themselves.
And on that note I invite you to view the first video of what will be many videos on DarwinianBytes.
